The Great American Songbook with Max Wellman & the Annie Booth Trio. Brought together by a late night jam session at Noce, Max Wellman and Denver’s Annie Booth Trio have been touring the midwest together since 2016. 

Vocalist Max Wellman is enticing music lovers throughout the region. With a sound evoking the likes of Sinatra and Connick, Wellman’s recordings & performances promise that the Great American Songbook is alive & well for a new generation of listeners.

Wellman has appeared at some of the great clubs throughout the country, from Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Lincoln Center to Andy's Jazz Club in Chicago to Dazzle in Denver & many in between. Performances alongside vocalist Rose Colella (Chicago) & pianist Annie Booth (Denver) have been met with rave reviews.

Over the years, Wellman has had recorded success with his recordings ‘Max Wellman Live with His Big Band’ (2010), ‘You Must Believe In Spring’ (2014), & ‘Just In Time’ (2016). Wellman has successfully produced concerts at many of the midwest’s gems, from historic Hoyt Sherman Place to the Des Moines Playhouse to the restored Paramount Theater in Cedar Rapids.

Max Wellman co-founded Noce, a state-of-the-art jazz club in the Western Gateway neighborhood of downtown Des Moines. Coming off that endeavor, Wellman released an album with The Annie Booth Trio in the summer of 2018. Max’s music is available on all prominent streaming platforms.

Annie Booth is a Denver-based jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and educator. Growing up in a musical family in Westminster, CO, she began the piano at a young age and started playing jazz in high school through the renowned non-profit organization, the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts. She went on to study music at the collegiate level, earning a BM in Jazz Studies from the Thompson Jazz Studies Program at the University of Colorado-Boulder in 2011.

Annie Booth has established herself as an active force on the on the scene both as a bandleader of the Annie Booth Trio and as a busy side-woman. She performs in legendary trumpeter Greg Gisbert's Quartet, mostly notably on a recent tour of Mexico through the "New York Jazz All-Stars" concert series. Annie is a recipient of an ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award (2011 and 2017) and was recently awarded the 2017 ASCAP Phoebe Jacobs Prize, an award that recognizes one promising young female jazz composer. She has been named "Best In Denver" from Westword Magazine the jazz genre in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and was featured as part of Jazz 89.3 KUVO's 2015 "30-Under-30" series. 

The Denver pianist-composer released her debut album, Wanderlust, in 2014 on the Dazzle Recordings label - an album that features an artistic program of nine original compositions in both trio and quartet settings. Additionally, Booth has released Festive! (2016, Annie Booth Trio), an upbeat Christmas album, Abundance (2017, Annie Booth Sextet), a live album recorded in December 2015 at Mighty Fine Productions.

In addition to performing, Annie is active in jazz education in Colorado – she is the Program Assistant and a faculty member for the Colorado Conservatory For the Jazz Arts.
