Pianist Nick Leo, bassist Jay Foote, and drummer Chris Jensen present an evening honoring the Charlie Haden/Geri Allen/Paul Motian trio. Leo and Foote curated a set of music that includes compositions from each of the late artists, pieces from their three influential studio albums, and music related to other projects from Haden, Allen, and Motian.
Nick Leo is a Des Moines-based musician and composer. He has an MM in Jazz Pedagogy and a BA in Music from the University of Northern Iowa where he studied with Chris Merz, Dr. Robert Washut, Sean Botkin, and Genadi Zagor. Prior to the pandemic, he maintained a busy performance schedule as a versatile jazz and Latin music pianist and has been a Teaching Artist of Jazz Piano at Drake University since 2009.
