Each month, join a new renowned member of the Iowa theater community for a special intimate performance on the Noce stage, free of charge.

Karla Kash is the head of the B.F.A. Musical Theatre Program at Drake University where she has directed/choreographed/fight directed many productions and will be directing Sweeney Todd in Fall 2013 as well as directing Romeo and Juliet as part of the J-Term 2014 production of “Bernstein and the Bard.” Professor Kash has worked professionally from NYC to San Diego and many places in between as well as China. Ms. Kash frequently works professionally in the Des Moines area as well. Most recently having directed a remount of Bill W. and Dr. Bob for StageWest where she is also slated to direct/choreograph Avenue Q in June 2014. Also for StageWest, Ms. Kash played Susan in [title of show] and Becca in Rabbit Hole.

Ms. Kash was most recently seen in a staged reading/singing of next to normal for Des Moines Onstage along with a few current Drake musical theatre students. In the summer of 2013, Professor Kash directed A Midsummer Nights Dream for the Repertory Theatre of Iowa, where she also directed As You Like It.

Professor Kash has an M.F.A. in Acting from Brandeis University and B.F.A. in Acting/Musical Theatre from Wright State University. Karla is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association, Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and The Society of American Fight Directors  through which she is proficient in six weapons. Professor Kash co-founded the nationally sanctioned 2-day stage combat workshop “Carnage in the Corn”  that is held on the Drake campus every November since 2008.
